All Hail the Mighty Anubis

Anubis is the ancient Egyptian god of mummification and the afterlife. He is usually depicted as a man with the head of a jackal, wearing a black or dark blue cloak. He is often associated with the ankh, a symbol of life, and the scales of justice, which he uses to weigh the hearts of the dead against the feather of truth.

Osiris, Anubis and Horus are my favorite ancient deities since I was a kid. I have always been fascinated with Egyptology and life in Ancient Egypt.

I remember when the Ramses II: The Great Pharoah and His Time came to Colorado. I went to that exhibit so many times and each time I would learn something new. Standing before the colossus statue of Ramses and his Obelisk, the feeling was just overwhelming and exciting. A great deal can be learned from the ancients.
